Dark brown bottle with little head. Aroma is sweet cocoa, and the flavor follows. The cocoa is not well brewed into the beer, though, it tastes as if chocolate syrup was added later. Not undrinkable, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

Well... this beer shows the horrors of beer exchanges. It pours like flat cola, no head, no lacing. It smells like chocolate syrup, and tastes like chocolate syrup added to water with a bit of bitterness in the end. This beer brings nothing to the table.

dark muddy brown with an almond head. The aroma is not that inviting, really sweet smelling chocolate that has a burning bit like a citrus cleaner. This is going to be hard to drink. Sickeningly sweet, and not an enjoyable sweetness. Very thin body. Reminds me of ghetto kool-aid. The lingering taste of sweet tarts is not something I want out of a beer. 3 3 3 1 5

Smells like cocoa not coffee, so that’s a good a start. Taste is nice, wtih great chocolate characters. Really a good winter beer. Maybe since it’s not too sweet people are scoring it low per style but I don’t care, I like it.

Had a sour taste to finish. First bottle was fine. The sour taste was mild but the second bottle about a week later was so sour that I could not finish (never fear my roommate threw it down).

Looks like coca cola in the glass, with no head. Smells of dry dog food, purely disgusting. Ventured to take a taste, its not as bad as the smell, but is still an odd conglomeration of nuts, chocolate and caramels. Glad I was sharing this at a new year’s party and only drank about 3 oz.

On tap. Very flat, brown appearance with no head. Some dark roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate notes. Very thin mouthfeel with not much in the way of flavor besides black tea and some chocolate. Had trouble finishing this one.

12-oz. bottle. Pours near opaque with spare fizzy off-white head and spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, roasted, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather, dough) with notes of caramel, ash and vanilla. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and moderate bitterness; thin leathery yeast and dark roasted coffee, chocolate malt flavor. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation and a metallic finish.
