Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Bottle at GBBF 08. Rich, deep brown colour with a small cream head and an aroma of dark fruits and caramel. Good caramel flavours in the mouth, helped by a very smooth palate. This isn’t that complex but it is a good strong ale, that puts me in mind of English barley wines.

Bottle at GBBF ’08. Many thanks to the kind friend who shared this. Dark brown. Sweet oaty malt aroma. Intensely sweet taste with leather, nuts and black toffee. Full of flavour and very agreeable. Interesting peachy backtaste. Mid bitter finish. Good stuff.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear brown with a small off white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is subdued - chocolate malts, grains and a touch of maple and alcohol.

The flavor is sweet chocolate and maple/molasses with a slightly bitter charred alcoholic finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an OK beer. It’s not very well balanced between the the cloying sweetness and the charred alcohol.

12oz bottle. A dark brown appearance with a moderate head. The aroma in nutty and filled with chocolate and caramel. The flavor is similar to brownies and quite rich with nutmeg, chocolate, and maple syrup. This was a good one.

poured brown and hazy with very little head if any, aromas of alcohol and malts taste of the same but alcohol comes thur more than any thing else has a slight taste of an imperial stout from the massive amounts of mallts and hops, its is a brown ale on steroids great idea from brewmaster but they had to find a catagory to put it in so they came up with an american strong I don’t think so
