Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Bottle. Poured a medium copper brown body. Aroma is light, sweet and sugary. Flavor is nutty, very sweet malt and caramel.

A very nice American Strong. Aroma was all maple syrup, peanut and caramel and toffee. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thin tan ring for a head. Taste was very sweet and malty. Strong Mrs. Butterworth and caramel malt, with earthy vanilla and and bitter hops in the aftertaste. Very little carbonation which hurts the score. Nice and different from the usual hop bomb that this style is.

12oz bottle. pours dark brown with beige head. floral hop aroma with caramel malt notes. some maple syrup finish it out. flavor are a dried dark fruit, vanilla, sweet caramelly finish. the alcohol really dries the palate out. sort of a fizzy mouth feel. just oaky.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Definately has a nutty aroma and is on the sweeter side. The taste is pretty sweet and is pretty nice but the finish is a little too long lasting. Overall pretty good.

Sour nutty aroma. Dark amber color with some tan foam. Very sweet in the beginning with a sour finish. Creamy palate. Alcohol slightly hidden. This is a over the top brown.

Maple maltiness. Strong-- almost like a polish porter. Very dark with little head. Lasts in the palate for awhile; it will keep you licking. The hops are drowned by the intense malts, but take a stand in the end. Eventful.

Distributor beer sample. Nice color, deep dark brown with frothy cream head. Smells like it would be a porter or stout. Smells of chocolate malts. Smooth and slightly (but not too) sweet,, with a nice dry bitter coffee aftertaste. Unlike any other "Nut Brown" I’ve ever had although I guess it’s more of a strong ale anyway. Nice and warming. Nice lacing with the head as well.

Good mouthfeel and a nutty sweetness. Dark brown, alcohol is warming but otherwise hidden. A drinkable and passable brew.
