Very cloying and artifical tasting. Macro brew crappiness in a somewhat smaller brewer. Swalden28 (1531), McKinney, Texas, USA

What is it with these beers with no head, it pours a dark translucent brown with a ruby hue, Very weal tan head, virtually no retention.....That pisses me off!!!! I feel like I am getting cheated....Now, for the rest of this rating, I was suprised to find a nice aroma, has maple, chocolate, and brown sugar...yum....Flavor is much the same with added alcohol spice....nice...palate is ok, low-medium carbonation, full body....I wanted to hate this beer, but it is not bad at all....I just want more head.......is that too much to ask for?????? This brewery is reminding me of my wife!!!! eleiser (8), USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2008 a flavorful beer, but I couldn’t have too much of it at once. It is made with maple syrup, but that is not an overdominating quality of the beer. it is not too sweet. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 17, 2008 aroma has some alcohol and malt. dark brown in color with a tan head, but not particularly eye catching for whatever reason. flavor is slightly medicinal with a lot of licorice. full bodied. I thought the idea sounded good, but the beer just wasn’t what I was expecting. It was lacking a rich maltiness in my opinion especially for a brown ale. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jun 12, 2008 A little too strong for a nut brown ale. Too much nutty, syrupy sweetness without any balance. Very low carbonation, no head. No complexity. No alcohol flavor. Full bodied and not refreshing at all. A whole one of these would not be enjoyable. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Woowee! Nice ABV for a Nut brown. Toasty, nutty soft and sweet but firm mouthfeel. Big bold brown body. Nutty all around, which conceals the alcohol better. A finish which reminds me of sugar coated almonds or sugar on my pancakes. Id like to try this again. garmonbozia (233), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Poured a nice brown color with a nice smell of sweet maple. Taste was smooth and very malty. The maple low carbibnation made this a very enjoyable beer.
