Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Pours a brownish red, with spotty wet lacing, and a small white head. Molasses and caramel in the nose, maple, brown sugar, and a smooth nuttiness. Flavor is malty, with maple syrup, caramel, chocolate, some Saturday morning chocolate cereal. Thin-bodied, sticky on the tongue. Alcohol is undetected. Not balanced well though, just very malt-driven. Still decent enough.

Color is brown. Had the signature Tommy Knocker, maple sirup flavor. Smells nutty. Traces of maple, chocolat, malt. Very smooth, the 9% abv was well hidden.

Aroma – Big strong malty aroma lots of nuts in the background.
Appearance – Dark Amber in color, Light head and very hazy.
Flavor – Strong nut brown flavor this was an over the top nut brown with huge alcohol flavor.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – A very big beer this should have been split between two people. Too much for one person. Big headache after this beer. Huge malt and flavors.

Pour is dark brown with a fizzy and very short lasting head. Aroma is of artificial sweetener and nuts. Flavor is more artificial sweetener, nuts, some maple syrup, and some toasted malts. Alcohol is hidden well in the front of the taste but appears in the throat soon after. I was really thrown off by the off-taste of that sweetener. Overall, this beer was much to sweet and sticky. Would not buy again. In fact, this beer kind of sucks.

From a 12 0z botle poured into a snifter. Poured a dark brown with little to no head. I smelled the a sweet alcohol to start with a little nutmeg. On taste I didn’t get the alcohol as much but did pick up some but and maple syrup. It was decent but not great.

The aroma was moderate to heavy toasted malts, caramel, maple syrup and light hops. It poured a small, off-white lasting head with good lacing. Hazy dark brown in color. The taste was moderately sweet with a hint of hops and a light, sweet finish.

12oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of maple syrup, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, and wood. Poured mahogany/ruby in color with a small off-white head that diminished fully. Very sparkling. Some particles. Hazy. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of maple syrup, maple leaves, brown sugar, nuts, wood, malts, and a hint of burning leaves. Medium body. Slick texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet maple finish.

Dark brown in color with a tan beige thin watery head and no lacing. Smell is light but is sweet subtle roasted malt. Flavor is watery and thin malt - not really very appealing - it is just really thin and not flavorful or bold at all. Some malty rubbing alcohol is picked up in the finish. Not very exciting but not wretched.
