May 9, 2008 Pours a muddy chestnut with a head that froths up but doesn’t hold. The nose has some varnish-like phenols and notes that combine blackstrap, caramelized pears and baked beans. The flavour is heavy on the baked beans, a little wood, a lot of molasses. Moderately sweet, drying out a bit late. Somewhat tart, which is distracting but not altogether bad. I just don’t see this beer going anywhere.

May 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nuty and can smell the warmth of the alcohol. Flavor of carmel and very warming. Tastes more like an imperial stout.

Apr 25, 2008 Bottle from Jim Schwabb of TK brewery. Pours deep dark brown with some ruby highlights. Creamy tan head with good retention, aroma is very malty with hints of nuts and fruits. Flavor is that of caramel malts alongside of a nice sweet molasses/nuttyness. The abv is not at all apparent, and the finish is very smooth and enjoyable. Almost tastes like a porter~ nice beer

Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Poured with a soda-like fizz, flapping into a shallow brew quite quickly. Odd, I know, but I swear to you know who that this smells like pizza. This drinks with a similar fruitiness of that simple pizza sauce ... rich and fruity, doughy, too. There’s a bit of brown sugar here, smooth and rich, but in a quite drinkable way. Apr 21, 2008 Poured an opaque dark brown color. Smell was quite fruity and malty. Taste is lots of fruity upfront, bready and buiscuit notes, maple syrup, brown sugar, distant hops. Hid the alcohol quite well.

Apr 18, 2008 Highly enjoyable. Clear dark brown pour with a tiny head. Nutty malt aroma and a sweet, potent nut brown flavor. Very rich with a big alcohol presence and a great balance. Bold, yet tasteful. Loved it.

Apr 15, 2008 Pours dark brown, with no foam, fizz, or fanfare. Weak lacing. Aroma of dark nut, maple, malt and syrup. Medium, syrupy mouthfeel. Cocoa, malt, corriander, nut, and maple sugar in the flavor. Thick finish. A full flavored beer no dought, but a litle chewy for even my tastes and I like stouts. The high alc. % is neigh detectable. They did a good job hiding it.
