Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Highly enjoyable. Clear dark brown pour with a tiny head. Nutty malt aroma and a sweet, potent nut brown flavor. Very rich with a big alcohol presence and a great balance. Bold, yet tasteful. Loved it.

Pours dark brown, with no foam, fizz, or fanfare. Weak lacing. Aroma of dark nut, maple, malt and syrup. Medium, syrupy mouthfeel. Cocoa, malt, corriander, nut, and maple sugar in the flavor. Thick finish. A full flavored beer no dought, but a litle chewy for even my tastes and I like stouts. The high alc. % is neigh detectable. They did a good job hiding it.

Pours brown with a nice tan head. Nice aroma of maple syrup and dried fruits. Bitter and bold flavor.

12 oz. bottle. Pours reddish brown with haze, small floaters, and almost no head, though paradoxically lacy. Aroma includes dark malts, syrup, dried fruits and some sour lactose. Bold, but smooth flavor. Sweet, but balanced nicely by bitterness and alcoholic warmth. Full-bodied with a smooth, creamy palate. Not much "nut brown" coming through, but plenty of "strong ale". This is a really nice beer; I’m surprised it is rated so low.

Pours a dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is mostly cocoa. Tastes of sweet flavors which blended together. I think I may have been tasting the maple syrup. Palate is medium with a sweet boozy taste. Overpriced in my opinion.

this beer is fine if you like the flavor of melted chocolate ice cream. hop flavor is nearly gone, malt leans a little bit too far towards the chocolate side for me. very smooth beer though...

Pours clear light brown with a medium head. Aroma is typical of a nut brown with sweet malt dominating. Mouth feel is thin with a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is lacking with some sweetness and a bit of nuttiness. A touch of hop and alcohol finishes the flavor profile. Not an offensive beer, just nothing special.

This beer pours very dark and when light shines through, you can see a bit of a red color to the brew. The head was a bit disappointing as there was virtually none. There was a bit of an alcohol scent mixed with the sweet smell from maple syrup. The flavor of the beer was a bit sweet from the flavor of the malts and had a slight syrup taste. For the amount of alcohol within this brew, it sure hides it very well.
