Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nuty and can smell the warmth of the alcohol. Flavor of carmel and very warming.

12oz bottle. Deep amber-brown color with a thin but steady beige head. Maple syrup and malt aroma. Big and malty, with a smooth caramel undertone. Very minimal hop balance, just a slight hint in the initial mouthfeel. For the ABV, it does a great job smoothing out and remaining drinkable. Relatively straightforward but still rather unique as you don’t see many big, malt centered Brown Ales like this. Not unlike a Doppelbock in it’s depth, but without the funky pungent yeast tones. Quite nice and mellow.

Good malt flavor. dark brown. No off tastes or high alcohol. Lost the maple taste but still very smooth.

Good malt tast but a bit thin. Not as sweet as I feared but overall the thin taste is a drawback.

I wasn’t expecting much from this beer, but bam...it was packed with flavor. Pours a brown color with reddish hue. Flavor of malt, maple, chocolate, walnut, and hazelnut. Alcohol on the throat and finish. Little to no carbination. Overall a good beer.

I visited the Tommyknocker brewery in Colorado after trying the Nut Brown ale. I got a single bottle of the Imperial and fell in love with it. It’s got a perfect balance of everything a nut brown should have. The aroma is dark and malty and the flavor is roasty and not too sweet. An amazing beer

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with small head. Very sweet and viscous, with the alcohol well hidden for the ABV. Not like any Nut Brown I’ve ever had. Pretty good beer.
