Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Nice brown/black with good coffee colored head. The aroma leaves something to be desired with a quiet (whimpy) hopped effort with overly sugared roasted malts. The taste is a bit better, relying on sugar-mapled malts to make up for a lack of solid composition not a great balance. Desipte these setbacks, not a bad brew. Seems like a brown ale on wayyy too much steroids.

Deep reddish colour with a tan head. Malty aroma with notes og caramel, sugar and nuts. Caramel sweet flavor with bready and nutty notes. Sweet, light hoppy finish.

Exceptionally fruity nose. All kinds of things going on here, apples, pears, berries, toffee, and a hint of alcohol. Pours a dark cherry with garnet highlights. Smallish frothy beige head is moslty diminishing with almost no lace. Very sweet through and through. Light warm alcohol bleed, and almost no acidity. The finish is roasted hazelnut coffee. As full as a stout, this brew is syrupy and lively. The finish feels slightly cloying.

A spicy nutty aroma. Very dark color, more black than brown. Has some alcohol, but it comes off toasty and tasty, not too strong. A good spiciness, just a little metal in the finish. Pretty nice and not too nutty at all.

Sugar bomb of a beer. Wow. Dessert beer for sure. For me the sweetness was way over the top, but it did have nice coffee and chocolate flavors.

It is what it says on the label: very dark brown with a little fizz and a distinctly nutty scent. Also, roasted flavours, lots of alcohol, licorice, maybe some wood (maple) and grassy hops. The finish is quite bitter. Far too thin and gassy in the body. Has a lot going for it, but the taste just doesn’t gel with the scent.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark, brown with a decent sized tan colred head. Aroma is chocolate, cashew, caramel, maple. Flavor is rich chocolate, maple, toffee, caramel, some nuttiness. Palate is medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, sweet sticky finish. This one surprised me, surpassed all expectations. Nice stuff here.
