Aroma and flavor are both dominated by caramel toffee and maple syrup. There’s an herbal hoppy finish that is only just there, enough to give some balance to this otherwise pretty sweet beer. Its best trait is a full rounded smooth mouthfeel complemented with a pillowy soft carbonation. Deep garnet color with a medium beige head and nice lacing. redlight (1487), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Nice caramelly nose, some brown sugar, very malty, hints of vanilla. Pours dark brown with little to no head. Rich and malty, caramel and brown sugar, hints of maple, the hops are hardly noticable just a little spiciness. Its pretty sweet, it would be a good dessert beer. hopdog (5606), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2007 22oz bottle. Poured a deep brown color with an averaged sized light tan head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, maple syrup, some dark fruits, and a little earthy. Tastes of maple syrup, chocolate, nutty, and some dark fruits. Brown sugary sweet. Reminded a little bit of root beer candy. This bottle was a little old, but I was pleasantly suprised by it. bdigital (590), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Bottle dated: 11/9/04. Poured a murky brown with a nice cream tinted head. Aroma of grapefruit, malt, caramel and mild hops. Some notes of nuttiness were coming through but were overpowered. Very creamy mouth feel with a slight tingle. This had a very strong citrus malt astringency to it that was quite pleasant. Again, there was a hint of nuttiness but not in the forefront. Fine brew. joergen (8617), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2007 Bottle. Small fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair lacing. Clear flat looking body with a mahogany color. Aroma of light caramel, nutty, molasses, roasted notes, rye bread. Also floral, elderflower, brown sugar and some fruity notes as well. Very full bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat sticky and alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Somewhat bitter finish. rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Dark brown red tone with thin tan head that dwindles. Burnt chocolate malts on a brown ale base with sugar notes and a mild but noticeable alcohol tone. Good but not too much more exciting than TK’s regular maple nut brown. Another "birthday beer" enjoyed on the train to Glenwood.
