Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Reddish brown with a moderate head, decent lacing and retention. Aroma is nuts, caramel, more sweet malts. Sweet finish with a watery mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

yick.. not a tasty beer. Syrupy, nasty aftertaste. Was scared to drink this - had it in the fridge as a last resort. Don’t know if Im going to be able to finish this bomber. Unpleasant aroma, flavor, and aftertaste.

22 oz. bottle. Poured big brown amber and juicy. Tan loose head. Aroma of sweet fruit and toffee. Starts carmelly sweet with hints of berry and more toffee. Middle has some maple and nutty undertones balanced lightly with subtle hop floralness and warming alcohol. A surprise and bargain at 3.99 a bottle.

Poured deep amber with lasting tan head. It has sort of a Barleywine aroma with dark fruit, hints of caramel and some alcohol. The flavor starts out with dates, plums and raisins. Midway the maple becomes noticeable. Toward the finish the fruitiness returns with hints of nuts and alcohol. This beer seems to end weak. It feels watery and not more than alcohol into the after taste. Too bad, it started out rather nice.

Bottle. The color of deep garnet. The head reminds me of a turbulant sky before a tornado, gray and swirly. Smells dark and robust, plum, fig, alcohol, and chocolate, with a taste to match. Molases, fig and malt. Smooth with a pleasant shock.

bottled 10/18/04 Pours a dark mahogany color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet of maple, caramel, dark fruits, and some alcohol. Very thick but I think it’s a little past it’s prime. Would’ve been better probably about a year younger. Flavors are very much the same as the aroma. Not too bad, but would’ve loved to try a little younger.

(bomber) poured intoa tulip. pours a dark nutty amber with mild head. carbonation is present with bubbles on the glass. Aroma is sweet of maple and sugar, nutty, some malts and chocolate. taste is sweet and maple nutty. has a sweet front, mild middle, and slightly bitter finish where you notice the chocalate and malts. aftertaste has warmth from the alchohol, mild maple roasted malt aftertaste. a good beer, at times a little too sweet.
