Poured dark brown with the makings of head, but it never really formed. Nutty, maple, dark sugar aromas. The flavors come off roasty-toasty, Aunt Jemima, chocolate, and toffee. Slight bitterness. I wish more brown ales had a mouthfeel like this one. Feels like more that water. Pretty nice. Thanks to BeerandBlues2 for this one. TomDecapolis (3195), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Pour is a cola brown with a brown head. Aroma is quite nice. Very sweet and creamy with some fresh hops and toasted malts coming through. Flavor is very sweet with hints of caramel and dark chocolate with some maple brown sugar flavor in there. Finish is very sweet and a little alcohol burn at the end. Very nice and different but you could only drink one of these in a sitting as the sweetness is there in a big way. A good beer. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
