| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2009 The aroma kind of reminds me a Flemish sour ale. But its appearance looks smooth and dark brown with a creaminess that lingers. The flavor is of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The palate is not very complex. Simple goodness. The high ABV and the smoothness of this brew are its two biggest pluses. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, blankboy & tupalev - HogTownHarry’s bottle. Reddish-brown with a small mocha head and lots of floaties. Aroma is malty and nutty - esp. hazelnut - and a bit boozy. Also slightly oxidized, which is to be expected, I guess, since it’s a 2+ year old bottle. Flavour is quite malty as well, with toasted nuts and maple notes. Medium bodied. A bit past its prime, but still OK. FROTHINGSLOSH (2031), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joes in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a black-brown color with a trace of a tan head. The aroma was nutty, woody and malty. The flavor was bitter, nutty and slightly roasty with a sour fruity undertone. The finish was long with sour nut and fruit. The beer was pretty flat and a bit syrupy. Ok. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2009 Bottle. Thanks to Daknole for the hookup! Pours a deep, um, brown color. Decent head, some lacing. Flavor is chocolate malts, roasted malts, maple syrup, nice bit of hops toward the end help dry it up. Finish is a bit of alcohol mild burn on the way down with a nice bit of crystallized maple syrup in there too. Overall not a bad beer.
