Commercial Description:
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

Bottle. Thanks to Daknole for the hookup! Pours a deep, um, brown color. Decent head, some lacing. Flavor is chocolate malts, roasted malts, maple syrup, nice bit of hops toward the end help dry it up. Finish is a bit of alcohol mild burn on the way down with a nice bit of crystallized maple syrup in there too. Overall not a bad beer.

Pours a very hazy caramel. Aroma is very brown sugar, nutty caramel and bourbon notes. Flavor is not as strong as would be expected from the aroma. It is nutty with mild brown sugar notes. Body is light with high carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with a small off-white head. Has a malty nutty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some nutty hints. Hasa sweetish malty nutty caramel finish.

Best drink it cold. I drank about half cold, half nearly room temp - it gets sweeter (almost sickeningly so) as it warms. Nutty, malty, didn’t taste any maple syrup to speak of...

Pours a dark brown with burnt orange highlights and an interesting tan head, kinda small. Aroma is maple, pears, coriander (some weird spice), burned rubber, and rotten fruit. Huh? The flavor is stranger, very tangy with a real strong bad lemon/pear flavor coming through the dull malt. Some maple is there, but the beer isn’t sweet like it should be. Gah, it’s like all the acidity and none of the coffee. Finishes a little nutty, astringent and cheap. Prickly carbonation, medium heavy body. WTF is going on here? This is terrible!

Pours brown with reddish edges and a tiny head that disappates to a white ring at the edge. Aroma is lots of sugary sweet malt and maple syrup. Flavor is not as sweet as I expected, slightly nutty, and a little bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a ruby brown with a very small, light tan head. The head fades quickly leaving no lacing. Sweet malt, maple syrup, and candy sugar notes in the nose. Medium-low carbonation with a sticky mouthfeel. My first impression is an overly sweet maple taste on the palate. Full bodied with a hint of dryness in it. Tastes of nuts, earth, minerals, and malt sweetness. The alcohol is well hidden. The finish is long with some lingering sweetness and a touch of earth. A little on the sweet side, but very drinkable.

12 ounce single bottle from Total Wine here in Jacksonville, Florida. Kiss the spring time bitches. Bottle is marked 9% alcohol - don’t know if it is a full 9.8% or not. Anyways...beer pours a cloudy brown color with a very small head. Aroma is all maple syrup and nuts. Taste is the same and finishes very nicely, no real weird taste to this one. I think it hides the alcohol content very well - a very good beer.
