bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 Another loser from the mixed pack. Poor example of a wheat beer. Lack of flavor, character, and body. This might be the worst in the bunch emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 19, 2009 Pours clean translucent light amber until the slurry is poured, adds some haze. Profuse creamy white head. Nose is strange, definitely a clean yeast, some wheat character, no estery aspect. Mild sweetness, green apple skins, mild fruityness, bready. Flavor is bleh, very bland, some wheat character, grassy, mild sweetness. No carbonation on the palate, kind of slick. TampaBrew (715), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 12, 2009 POurs a hazy orange with a thin white head. Can’t get much nose. Some wheat and lemon. Flavor is crisp wheat, mild honey, and grain. Grassy. bburychka (55), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2009 Very good light wheat ale. There’s not a ton of flavor, but it also doesn’t have the bitterness that some heavier beers have. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2009 12 oz bottle into a pint glass awhile back. A somewhat unique wheat brew with some big flavors, but they just don’t quite sit right. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England Aug 25, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 10/10/2008
Some spice aroma. Golden coloured and hazy in appearance. Smooth on the palate with a little ginger spice flavour. Hint of dryness in a crisp and creamy finish. ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Aug 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with large white frothy head that has decent retention and very nice lacing. Aroma is slightly floral and citrus.
Sweet wheat and barley malts up front with a zing citrus flavors that finishes with bittering hops. Needs a little more.
OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Aug 9, 2009 Looks like apple juice mixed with orange juice. Not much for smell. Tastes a little citrusy. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. Definitely not the best of the Tommyknocker brews.
