Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Found this one bottled in Belvidere, Illinois. Light orange, hazy pour with a thin white head (there’s a trend here). Very little nose to speak of, some lemon peel in there but not much else. A little banana and orange throughout, but not much taste, either. Dissapointing. I’ve not had a "Tommyknocker" beer I’ve truly enjoyed yet.

Good flavor, the lemongrass is unique and refreshing. The body was cloudy. this is a summer time beer with out a doubt.

Blah, this wasn’t so good. It didn’t become a hoppy mess of an American wheat, but was very lemon-grass flavored. Hard to taste or see past the lemongrass. Sloppy. Body wasn’t really thick, but it was cloying thick... or, rather, annoying thick feeling, sticky.

Color is hazy gold. Aroma is sweet and reminds me of . Flavor in kind of orangy and has hints of corriander which reminds me of a Belgian White The finish tastes like lemon grass, but isn’t overpowering. No bitterness at all. A bit thin on the palate. Over all this beer isn’t too bad and is really kind of refreshing. 12 oz bottle (best before 9/25/2006), $1.10 (out of a mixed 12-pack) from The Party Source.

(From skimpy notes) Pours clear golden with thin white head. Aroma is of cherries. Flavor weak. Palate watery.

Very refreshing. Like water. But with less flavor. Pours very pale with a thick white head. Smells slightly citrusy. Not a good beer to start my Tommyknocker experience with.

Aww crap.. its clear were my initial thoughts. Yellow color, white head, wheat aroma. Crappy flavor. Watery. bland. lame.

Clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is grainy almost like a macro lager. THe flavor is sweet and melony. I do not like this one at all. A bad style from a medicore brewery equals an unpleasant experience.
