Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is grainy almost like a macro lager. THe flavor is sweet and melony. I do not like this one at all. A bad style from a medicore brewery equals an unpleasant experience.

Initial pour looks like a macro pale lager, although this is unfiltered with cloudy yeast sediment lurking in the bottom. Aroma is of corn and lemon. No banana or clove detected as in some wheats. The lemon grass is a decent touch, but underneath that, there is nothing to this beer. Not repulsive but really doesn’t offer much either.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly leaving a little lace. Light cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and Light bodied. Sweet lemony nose. A little sweeter than a typical wheat, must be the lemon grass, slight lemon aftertaste. Good summer beer. $1.29 for a 12oz bottle from Blue Max Liquor Burnsville, Mn.

Made a average appearance, poured a cloudy dull yellowish golden with a foamy white head, medium carbonation. They’re not lying, had a nose of lemon grass, sweet wheat malt, yeast and grain. A semi-crisp and a little rough medium bodied mouthfeel, average drinkability. Sort of average tasting, grain, wheat and lightly yeasty, not much of hop presence, but there shouldn’t be, the lemon grass starts coming through towards the end and a lemony herbal and malty finish. Not bad on a hot summer day, but not exceptional either.

The aroma is light but has lemon grass and the right malt smell for a wheat beer. The appearance is hazy gold with lots of particles and a small head. The flavor is very nice with plenty of malt and a wheat emphasis. The bitterness is upfront and light. The finish is malty but watery. The palate is weak and thin. This is a good beer that could stand a thicker head and palate but I would have another.

Pours hazy light golden with a mostly receding white head. Aroma of light citrus, lemongrass, and slight yeastiness. Taste is citric and lightly yeasty with notes of bread dough. Mouthfeel is thin/medium bodied with moderate carbonation. This beer would probably be very boring without the lemongrass. Too bad they didn’t use a good yeast.

Not bad for an american style wheat. The wheat flavor is appearant. Almost no hops. Malts taste is present with a slight citrus sensation to it. A thirst quencher
