Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Poured a very hazy light copper with a small white head. Aroma of lemon candy and perfume. Wheaty flavors of lightly tart lemon. Almost tastes like lemoade. Light body

No head, cloudy gold. Clean kool-ade nose w/ corn syrup. Taste is bland, a bit tart with a touch of malt.

Too much lemongrass, which lended a sour/bitter flavor to the beer. These Tommyknockers aren’t very good.

An average wheat beer at best. Pours a cloudy straw color with a billowing white head that quickly vanishes. A slight citrusy flavor soon gives way to a watery mouthfeel. This would probably be quite refreshing on a hot summer afternoon but I wouldn’t invest in more of it with so many superior alternatives available.

Right off the bat I need to note that my bottle was dated Sep 29, 2003, and I’m drinking it in July 2005 ... but this still poured golden orange with a big laced head. There is some light sediment. The beer is sweet and cleanly bodied with a heavy grassy component and but a mere tinge of lemon-bitter finish. OK, especially considering the age.

Pale golden color with no head. Very yeasty aroma and flavor with no fruit or spice.

Pale in color with a quickly dissapating, white head. Very delicate aroma of new mown hay and soft malt. Features a crisp, lemon flavor with just a little tartness from the wheat malt. Body is light and crisp with a touch of creaminess. Overall- a decent summer-like brew.

not very hazy fo being unfiltered. a tad bit of yeastyness in the aroma accompanied by citrus(not from hops, but from the lemon) not sure how i felt about the lemon citric dominance in this brew, but it proved to be refreshing at times. highly carbonated some dusty hops and more lemon in the finish. a so so beer.
