Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Golden almost clear with a thick head. Weak wheat smell that is not appealing. Lack of taste there is some wheat there but not much else. It is slightly crisp and refreshful though.

Pours a sandy, golden brown with considerable haze... near opaque. A whitish head fades fast. Weak aroma with kind of a "banana ice cream" feel to it. Roasted corn nuts late. Tart flavor atop a base of grains. A bit thin and overcarbonated. MIld sweetness in the finish, but sourness is louder. Not bad, but probably the weakest of the Motherlode.

Clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is grainy almost like a macro lager. THe flavor is sweet and melony. I do not like this one at all. A bad style from a medicore brewery equals an unpleasant experience.

Bottle sampled with stegosaurus. Pours a hazy golden color with a limited white head. Aroma of lemons, and citrus. Flavor was similar to aroma with a light body and a crisp refreshing finish.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours a slight cloudy golden with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon and grassy hops. The flavor is sweet, lemons, and citrus. Thin bodied, ok brew.

Pours clean translucent light amber until the slurry is poured, adds some haze. Profuse creamy white head. Nose is strange, definitely a clean yeast, some wheat character, no estery aspect. Mild sweetness, green apple skins, mild fruityness, bready. Flavor is bleh, very bland, some wheat character, grassy, mild sweetness. No carbonation on the palate, kind of slick.

Thin, watery, un-wheaty chemical taste with a lemony aftertaste. Nose is lemony and chemicals that reminded us of fabric softener and that damn little snuggle bear.

Clear yellowy appearance, well carbonated, good head formation. Sweet lemon honey, grainy biscuity malt aroma. Dryish grainy palate, sweet lemon undertones. Mild bitterness, short finish. Not a style I’ve ever cared for but even taking that into consideration this one really doesn’t impress.
