Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Bottle. Primarily lemon grass aroma - light hint of wheat malt. Cloudy amber with small head. Light wheat malt flavor initially that’s quickly overwhelmed by the lemon grass flavor -watery. Probably could get the same flavor by adding lemon grass to any light beer. No bad tastes to this beer - just not a lot there.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy pale amber colour with a low creamy white head. Weak aroma of bakers yeast pears and caramel. Lightt-bodied with clean notes of yeast and mild lemon. Short finish with touches of bakers yeast, lemon and caramel.

It looks good enough; orange and some sediment. Lemongrass in the aroma with very light wheat. It does has some body to it. Flavor is lemon grass and this makes it very dry. Some sweet wheat, but overall fairly light. The lemon grass is interesting and works well enough.

Pours a murky straw color with a thin white head. Quick lacing. Aroma is light hops and spice. Light bodied with flavors of citrus, floral hops and very little wheat. Finish is rather crisp and carbonated. This is a mediocre beer overall, but not bad on the scale of other American Wheats I have tried.

Interesting name. Yellow-gold haze with a big white head. Honey sweetness noticed initially. Smooth, "uncooked" malt flavor, combined with an astringent bitterness were big turnoffs. Lemon grass flavors were odd, and reminded me of Vietnamese cuisine (not flavors I seek out in beer). Hop bitterness in the aftertaste seemed unbalanced.

Clooudy yellow, thin but dense white head. Very faint aroma - banana, bubblegum, etc - the usual suspects. Some notes of sourdough and a touch of banana in the flavor. Crisp finish.

The aroma is light but has lemon grass and the right malt smell for a wheat beer. The appearance is hazy gold with lots of particles and a small head. The flavor is very nice with plenty of malt and a wheat emphasis. The bitterness is upfront and light. The finish is malty but watery. The palate is weak and thin. This is a good beer that could stand a thicker head and palate but I would have another.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Cloudy golden colour with very brief, white head. Fruity nose with apricots, peaches, vanilla and distinct bubble-gum aromas. Fruity taste with notes of peaches, mandarin, citrus and hints of sweet candy. Finish is slightly spicy but not overly sweet. Thin body. Rather fresh but on the boring side.
