Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Cloudy golden colour with very brief, white head. Fruity nose with apricots, peaches, vanilla and distinct bubble-gum aromas. Fruity taste with notes of peaches, mandarin, citrus and hints of sweet candy. Finish is slightly spicy but not overly sweet. Thin body. Rather fresh but on the boring side.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) "Enjoy" by 15-Dec-05. Enjoy? Ha, that’s a good one! This beer is yet another boring entry into a boring beer category. Lemony citrus, a bit of light fruit, a touch of sweetness, and barely any wheat malt flavor, this is entirely forgettable. Light citrus in the nose, plus some stinkiness, but this is far from what I’d consider aromatic. Light bodied with decent carbonation levels. The beer is a dull, dark golden color and is fully cloudy, and the whitish head barely rises to a quarter inch before relenting and fading down to a broken film. A few spots of lace try to stick to the glass, but end up dissipating too. Maybe the mule is kicking the Jack Whacker because it is tired of being whipped, but I think it’s more likely the mule’s rebelling for the ingnominity of having to carry the ingredients for this below average beer.

Re-Rate 07/18/02: Lightly chill hazed and golden orange in color, nice white head and decent lace. Nose is citrusy, a bit earthy, clean and crisp, slightly ’Perfumy’. Front is sweet, the top is light to medium, the finish is lightly hopped, acidic and somewhat dry, a decent beer, nice on these hot humid afternoons. Ranks #699 on my master list of beers.

Pleasant, lemony, citrus, golden ale wheat aroma. Moderately cloudy, bad label, webby white head. Doughy, lightly sweet, lightly tart, not very crisp. WIlting finish with a fading tartness. Not very estery, not very hoppy, not very fizzy. I’m sorry, but lemongrass just isn’t a sufficiently robust flavor to build a beer around.

Golden colored, thin greyish head. Sweet aroma of grain and fruit, but no sign of wheat. Thin grainy flavor with soda-pop characters. Foamy watery mouthfull. Not bad, just extremely uninteresting.

12 oz. single - $1.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a very slightly hazy, yellow-orange body with a thin, fizzy, white head. Smell: Sweetish, mildly grainy wheat malt intially in the scent, but juicy, fruity citrus follow close behind. Taste: Sweetish maltiness with only a very mild grainy wheat bread character. Fruity tangerine juice alongside an addition of near-savory lemongrass. Sparse hop character and only a tiny touch of bitterness. Finishes dry and very crisp with a final touch of doughy malts. Slight lemon hints in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: A slightly toned down carbonation would, for me, be appreciate. Otherwise, it’s a fairly pleasant wheat ale.

Bottle: Cirtusy aroma with light orange peel. Pours a transparent orangish-gold with white head that diminishes quickly. Light malt and citrus up front with a light hop finish. Easy drinking but nothing special.

12oz bottle. Wheat grain aroma. Yellow body with white head. Flavor of wheat grains and a mild bitterness. Went well with the spicey pizza for dinner.
