Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Murky yellow orange color out of the bottle with only a small white head. Thin citrus nose with a little sour to it. Some lemon citrus notes, some doughy yeast, and light grain. Actually very little flavor at all. Clean finish. Something a little funky in the background.

Bottled December, 2002: Bone white foam with moderate retention. Cloudy banana juice liquid. Didn’t quite expect such a nice aroma quite this delicious: Predominant fresh hop grassy aroma, lemon, and a dash of pepper and banana. Underlying phenols show their stuff, as does bready yeastiness. The watery palate and spritzy carbonation are not a good mix. Initial mild citric twang, topped by a blanket of pepper, vanilla, lemon, and bready malt. Flavorful finishing interplay of light citric snappy tones and breadiness. Far better than I expected from this cheesy brewery. Note: The extreme freshness allowed the hops to be fully exerted, which impressed me.

Cloudy golden color, medium foaming head, leaving minimal lacing in the glass. Aroma typical of American wheat, with notes of lemon zest and grainy wheat. Flavor dominated by wheat and citrus, with a moderate unintegrated bitterness at the finish. Left a long grainy bitterness on the palate.

bottle - Pours hazy yellow with a thin, fizzy, rapidly fading head. The aroma is mild yeast and citrus. The flavor is sweet and lemon. It’s light and simple with a wet finish, just okay.

Nice aroma, rather attractive and inviting. Fragrance of yeast with body. Hypnotizing swirling pour inside a pale yellow brew. Varying carbonation; at times its creamy, other times you can barely tell there is any there. Wheatish taste but I don’t care for that slight ale attribute. Mild and friendly for the most part. Not much bitterness on the finish. Some very slight hints of lemon on the sides of the tongue.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orange amber with loads of carbonation, the head was thin and white. The aroma is citrus and wheat/yeasty. The taste was somewhat bland wheat with some citrus.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma was sweetish, peppery and lightly yeasty. The flavor was sweettart candies with with touches of artificial citrus and yeastiness. Decent body. Ok.
