Tommyknocker Jack Whacker Wheat Ale

Had this one a few months back at the AA meeting at summits. Rotten bananna color to it. I got a dusty light aroma, kinda had a fruity pebbles hint to it. Didnt have anything to speak of in the light body except for being light.

Murky yellow orange color out of the bottle with only a small white head. Thin citrus nose with a little sour to it. Some lemon citrus notes, some doughy yeast, and light grain. Actually very little flavor at all. Clean finish. Something a little funky in the background.

Looks OK. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Not much aroma, a bit musty, wheaty, and a hint of diesel fuel. Flavor is watery American Wheat, smooth and drinkable, but it has an artificial taste similar to that in the dopplebock they brew, only less intense. Lemongrass on the finish. Overall its not as bad as I was expecting but never rises above mediocre. The label is more of the stupidity that you would expect from a brewery that calls itself “Tommyknocker”. I’m glad I only bought a single instead of a six pack.

Muddy day old toilet water. Lovely subtle fruitiness in the aroma with sour peach, banana and tangerine. The lemon grass is also very apparent as well. Bready maltiness is present. The taste is so unbelievably lacking in body, flavor and complexity. Front is nothing, absolutely nothing. The lemon grass becomes more apparent in the mid-palate. Different light fruitiness comes along on the finish.

Cloudy golden color, medium foaming head, leaving minimal lacing in the glass. Aroma typical of American wheat, with notes of lemon zest and grainy wheat. Flavor dominated by wheat and citrus, with a moderate unintegrated bitterness at the finish. Left a long grainy bitterness on the palate.

Pale somewhat clear pale yellow pour. Small white head fades fast. Aroma is mostly lemon with just a note of hops. Flavor is true to the aroma, with a somewhat malty finish. The beer is highly carbonated. There are better, but with the large lemony flavor, this would be better on a hot summer night.

This beer poured a sickly cloudy orange with visible beer pulp. It had a quickly dissipitating head. The taste isn’t bad but not really wheaty. It’s rather hard to define. It’s rather bland and quite forgetable. The purported lemon flavor doesn’t show through until the aftertaste. The whole beer is saved at the last minute by the lemon after-taste.

Looks light and watery... Mmmmhmmm, not much carbonation, small head, yes very beer-drinking-urine-like. Kinda lilacy in the scent... smells nice, not strong scented. When you smell this beer you also taste this beer. No surprises here, tastes exactly like it smells... A bit thin in the mouth. There's nothing wrong with this beer, but also not much right either. Save your time and go for something a little more original or defined.
