Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

A nice wheat beer with whispers of citrus thanks to the addition of lemon grass. Color is cloudy amber, so you know it hasn’t been filtered. Aroma has a hint of lemon, as does the taste, which is typical of a wheat beer. Pleasant and uncomplex, it has just a little bit of a hoppy bite.

Nice aroma, rather attractive and inviting. Fragrance of yeast with body. Hypnotizing swirling pour inside a pale yellow brew. Varying carbonation; at times its creamy, other times you can barely tell there is any there. Wheatish taste but I don’t care for that slight ale attribute. Mild and friendly for the most part. Not much bitterness on the finish. Some very slight hints of lemon on the sides of the tongue.

Strong citrus smell from the lemongrass. Tates a little like a radler, the lemon is very pronounced. Finish has some yeasty/bready notes. Very refreshing beer for a hot day.

12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Cloudy yellow with a thin head and some floaters. The aroma was strong with notes of lemon, orange peel and citrusy hops. The flavor was much the same, citrus, lemon, wheat and maybe a touch of spice.

12 oz bottle. Pours pale hazy yellow with a decent crisp white head. Smells wheaty, floral, and candy-ish. Tastes like wheat and sugar. Some kind of candy sweetness that is unusual, but not bad.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with slight orange hues. There is a very nice large white, frothy head that has decent retention and very nice lacing. Aroma is slightly floral and sort of fruity and a bit earthy. Flavor is sort of citrusy and nice subtle lemon flavors at the end. It could be a bit bolder. It is nice and easy on the palate and very drinkable. Not my favorite but not something I would pour down the drain.

On tap at the Brewery. Definitely not a hefe from the motherland. Interesting with out of place notes. There is no real development of ripe bananas or even, (in a good way) bubble gum flavours. Light and new in all aspects, worth a try when in CO.
