Commercial Description:
An American-style wheat ale brewed with 30% malted wheat and 2 row barley. Low hopping rates allow the refreshing aroma and citrus flavor of a late addition of lemon grass to dominate. This unfiltered beer retains all of its protein, flavor, and some of its yeast, resulting in a traditionally cloudy appearance. 2000 North American Brewers Asc. Gold Medal

Pours a nice golden with very little head. Smells sweet and wheaty with a little yeast mixed in. Very smooth palate, and a clean finish.

Light and lemony, this wheat ale is a very fine summer refresher, although I think it's underhopped and it's dark appearance is somewhat murky. Still, it's very enjoyable for what it is,,, an American wheat beer. p.s. I miss the old "Dakota" wheat beer and it's "Born wild, raised proud" slogan!

Bottle: Cirtusy aroma with light orange peel. Pours a transparent orangish-gold with white head that diminishes quickly. Light malt and citrus up front with a light hop finish. Easy drinking but nothing special.

Slightly hazy gold/orange pour with mild head. Not much aroma. A little citrusy a little hops. No yeastiness, banana or clove. Not bad not great. Also not harsh like some American wheats can be.
