Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown Ale

Pours a dark nut brown color with a thin tan head, and leaves some minor laceing along the sides of the glass. the nose is very tart with hints of roasted walnut and some sweet caramelized sugar. Initially the flavor is full of walnut and other roasted nuts and malt. there is also some slight tart and sweet maple sugar tartness. The maple syrup is very potent only when the beer is in your mouth. After it has gone down your throat there is an after taste of nuts that sticks on your palate for quite sometime. Overall it is an alright beer, it is kind of like a sour ale but a very weak one at that.

Bottle. As i was drinking this i already figured this would be poorly rated. But this brown ale was easy drinking, not a great aroma, the maple came in a little artifical and sweet. No etoh here, idk something could have been done better.

12 oz. bottle. Pours brown with red/copper hues, small khaki head that disappears quickly and almost completely. Sweet nose with a lot of syrup. Holy sweet Batman! Lots of maple syrup sweetness with more sweetness from the caramel and a touch of brown sugar. Slight crispness from the hops, but not much bitter at all to balance out the flavor. Not terrible to drink, but nothing to write home about.

dark brown with a reddish tint and a thin off-white head. smells like Cream of Wheat with syrup added. highly carbonated. taste is definitely replete with the maple and walnut with minute hints of cocoa powder and dark fruit like plum or raisin. aftertaste kinda bland...not my favorite.

A little misleading. Excellent color but the flavor and texture did not match up to its color. A little to fake flavored to me but if you like maple syrup this is the beer for you.

A deep amber brown with a touch of a red hue. Pours with a small 1-finger fizzy off-white head that lasted for a few seconds. Definitely a lot of maple sweetness in the nose with some caramel and old wet leaves. A slight carbonic bite too. The taste has a sort of funk, but not a good barnyard funk. There is a malty toffee, but also a dirty spoiled flavor. Not a very pleasing taste. Very sweet with a bit of a bitter finish leaving a little bit of the spoiled flavor on the tongue.

Nice darkish pour like rootbeer or dark american lager. Mild carbonation and could use a little more. A slight annoying personality of maple syrup, but maple syrup is not my favorite pancake syrup. A little sticky at times. A bit cloying on the finish.

Pours a deep brown colour with a large tan head. Decent retention in the head. Moderately sweet with plenty of caramel and nutty flavors. A decent beer overall.
