I really wish I could have something good to say about this, I just don’t. The first sip tastes very tangy, I’m guessing yeast maybe....a weak fruity aroma. Doesn’t taste like what you would expect. ansermadide (523), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 1, 2008 You can smell the maple syrup as soon as you pour this into a glass! Pours a deep amber-brown, much like a dark cherry wood stain. Soft, off-white head that leaves a creamy lacing. Very tree-ish aroma. Reminds me of a porter. Palate is light - I was expecting something heavier and sweeter. Taste is sharp and sweet, but still cool and crisp. I want to say watery, but just as I’m about to agree to saying that I change my mind. The more I drink it the more it tastes like a standard brown ale, but with a unique twist on the back of the tongue (thanks to the maple, I’m sure). Overall, a neat drink but nothing to write home about. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Bottle from Schwabby. Pours a reddish brown with a puffy off white long lasting head. Hints of caramel malts on the nose. Taste was interesting with the maple making a subtle sweetness. The malts were nicely infused, finishes quick. Not a bad brown, but I prefet their Imperial nut beer much better~ HonkeyBra (1373), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Pours amber. Nose is maple, hazelnut, peanut brittle. Taste is pretty average for a brown ale. Lots of maple in the taste. Not worth seeking out. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours somewhere between amber and brown. The aroma was wheaty but has no sweetness that you would expect in a maple. The taste was dissappointing again because of the lack of sweetness. There was some nutiness to the taste. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Unremarkable. Amber pour with a small white head. Bit of maple and nut along with the malts in the nose. Flavor is sweet with a toasted malt thing going on along with the maple. Thinner on the palate than expected. Overall, pretty meh. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 18, 2008 A very average brown ale. Aroma was maple, nuts and roasted malt but as it warmed started taking on a fart-like smell. Wierd. Pour was a nice dark brown with a thin off white ring for a head. Taste was a little stale. Maple syrup definately is present as well as walnut, caramel and caramel malt. Almost tastes like burnt liquified Cracker Jacks. Drinkable at best. tnkw01 (214), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Bottle. Pretty good beer. I thought it might be too sweet or thick. It’s not. It does have a slight maple taste and smell. Just a touch too bitter, believe it or not. One would expect maple to be sweet. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this beer.
