| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Ok, a fair warning: I am not the biggest fan of brown ales. I have had one that was delicious (DogFish Head) and thats it right now. I just don’t like the watery and thin qualities of a lot of them. So, it should be no surprise that I didn’t care for this one all that much. I really was hoping the maple would be thicker and more pronounced. Its there, but just as a hint and not as a main ingredient. The taste to this one is a little sharper and with some carbonation, which I actually think helps it out. The maple is a nice touch, and the best thing about the beer. Just not my thing. jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottle about a year old. Darker brown with fizzy tan head. Aroma is sweet brown sugar, some roast and nuttiness. Flavor is sweet roast with brown sugar, some dough, nuttiness, maple syrup, not bad. Medium creamy body. Not too bad, better than the aged big butt. daknole (3030), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Not the best maple beer out there, that is for sure. Malty with a faint maple flavor. Not a good mouthfeel. I have had this beer both on tap at the brewpub and in bottles. Drinkable? Yes. Great? No. csbosox (1085), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Thanks Jim! This beer is at least 2 years old, I think the notches indicate it was bottled on Sep. 28, 2005, but IMO notches typically are not very reliable. 12oz bottle, served at 46° right out of beer fridge #1. Aroma is chocolate, melanoidins, cream, light nuttiness and earthiness. Possibly a hint of maple syrup, but it could be the malts... Dark crimson red color with a smallish, but persistent head. Looks like a small amount of fine matter has settled out of the beer, it now clings to the bottom of the bottle. No floaties in the beer and the clarity is excellent. The taste, at first, is nutty and malt forward with some toasty and mildly roasty grains followed by more of the same. There is some sweetness that lingers into the finish, but fades away before the malt flavor does. It is not a bad American brown ale. BelgianBeerGal (1324), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Bottled. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a think tan head. Rather dusty aroma of caramel and coffee. Flavour was slightly sweet but over shadowed by too-toasted malt. Average.
