Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

very sweet, nice flavor. But the low alcohol is a real bummer. This was one of the best beers in the variety pack I bought. That being said...I’ve got a few more to rate and they’re all down hill form here.

12 oz bottle from Abe’s. Poured a reddish/orange with a bubbly light beige head. Aroma of chcolate malts and light maple syrup. Flavor is syrupy and malty with distinct maple. Thinner bodied with strong carbonation and a lingering sweet afttertaste.

This nut brown poured a deep brown colour with a smooth tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of malt, maple, molassass and hopps. First taste is smooth but watery. Maple flavours very prodominant. Additional favours of malt and caramel. Finnish is sweet and maly with maple flavours lingering into the palate. Still too watery but not bad.

Draft at St Julian. Pours clear brown with off-white head that thins. Sweet very malty aroma. Roasted malt flavor with mild hoppiness, not all that impressive or satisfying.

Bottle. Thanks to Christianscheffel. Pours dark brown with a reddish hew and a small creamy head and lacings. Nose is sweet. Rye-bread and toffee. Chewy malty. Full bodied. Tasty

As the name would suggest, there is a definite maple aroma to it. The flavor is long-lasting, but not the best in the TommKnocker line.

Poured from bottle. Dark brown/reddish. Nice aroma of sweet malt, nuts, and a hint of syrup. Palate is full but a little oily. Flavor is nice and sweet, with a hint of nuttiness (especially in the finish), and is absent of any real hop flavor. Mostly tastes of sweet malt with a little nuttiness. Lacks complexity, but a nice autumn beer.
