Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

I’d have to say that this one dissapointed me. I was looking forward to trying this one and it let me down.

Medium brown in pour with very little head and a bubbly lacing around the outside. Strong aroma of maple syrup and toffee with a hint of coffee. No sign of hops here. Very light body. Some burnt coffee in the taste.

Nice dark brown color with red highlights. Has a pleasant nutty smell. I wasn’t expecting all that much and it was in some ways better than I expected. Some toasted notes and a bit of maple sugar. A “light” brown ale for sure with a malty finish.

Bottle. Dark brown color with a light tan head. Aroma is a lightly sweet and nutty. Taste has a slightly tangy malt character with some slight nuttiness on the back end. The maple-sweetness doesn’t really show itself too much. The nuttiness kind of takes on an odd unpleasant character to me.

Had this beer on 11/13/1998. Color is a deep rich reddish brown with low carbonation and almost no head. Aroma is a light roasted malt scent. Taste a smooth roasted flavor. It starts with a medium body that goes down with a rich feel. The finish is a good roasted malt taste with a light sweetness. I guess the sweetness comes from the Maple although there isn’t a distinct maple taste.

Smells like pancakes!!! Looks like syrup! Tastes like a collision of chocolate and maple syrups at a pancake house... look out! yummy, yum, yum!

one of the finest I’ve had in a long time, warm this up, pour it on your pancakes, start the day off right, very easy to drink, seems right for this time of the year

Dark reddish brown color with small off-white head and no lacing. Aroma and flavor have sweet malts and caramel. Average but drinkable
