Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Was dark brown with red highlights. Had a nutty smell. Taste was light and even a bit watery. Toasted notes with just a faint hint of the maple. It didnlt really come through as heavily as I was expecting.

Taste good from the get go, I like the flavor and the smooth light sweet taste of the Malt and Maple Syrup is delicious.

16 oz tap. decent brown ale but lacks complexity. the hops are dominated by a very robust flavor of maple. very sweet but tasty.

The maple counters the hops to reduce the bitterness but replaces it with a tangy flavor that totally and completly covers everything else up. It loses in conception and delivery.

Dark redish brown with a tan head. This beer was caramely and sour. Most likely went bad.

From bottle : Pours a dark brown with a finger wide white head and some decent lacing around the mug. Strong maple aroma hits the nose, with a little nut, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, mainly maple, and a little roastedness, but not enough in my opinion. Palate is medium, and a little sticky for some reason.

Somewhat hazy appearance. There is a very slight maple flavor that comes forth. Other than that, an OK, but somewhat mundane, brown ale.
