Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Clear dark brown color. Modest head. Not much aroma. SWEET maple flavor. No hops.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown. Thin, smallish white head that disappears quickly. Mouthfeel is unbelievably hollow. I don’t quite know where the maple syrup went in this one.

bottle..pours dark brown with no head..aroma typical of a nut brown, with maple syrup, nuts, and brown sugar...caramel-laden body with a light maple syrup backbone...pretty basic, but oddly enjoyable

Dark yet transluscent maroon colored pour with a light beige head. Oddly sweet maple smell, with a light sour vinegar smell. Not good. Taste is basically nutty, light, smooth and boring. I bought 3 other beers from this brewery and I hope this isn’t their best... I really wanted to like this, and was drawn in from the bottle, but it really wasn’t good. Didn’t finish and wouldn’t get again.

Terrible. Pours a dark reddish color with no head. Tastes like water... a drop of maple syrup... and some hazelnuts. How did this win awards? BOOOOOO.

Brown with flimsy head / Weak caramel nose / Watery flavors of roast coffee and caramel / Not objectionable, but forgetable.

Brown. Smells like some kind of nut bread. Didn’t get the maple syrup at all. Common taste with a watery mouthfeel.

pours a deep brown with a small head that disperses immediatly probably because of the maple syrup. smells bready, some nut and chocolate and maple. tastes kind of flat. gets better as it warms up. dry hoppy finish. s’alright
