Aroma is slight chocolate and malt. Flavor is nut, chocolate and malt balanced with mild sourish notes and metallic hop.Thankfully, the maple is understated and used only to balance and enhance the typical brown ale flavors. Palate is typical brown ale: watery and light-medium bodied, with a nice tingle. This one is underrated. jameswolfe (142), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

I like the taste of maple. The real problem with this is that the beer is too thin for the sweetness. Perhaps if they made this in a stout it would be much better. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Bottle (12oz). Clear brown-ruby, not that dark, bubbly, small off-white head. I can’t really smell anything - maybe a bit of nutshell malt, something sweet that might be maple. Taste - again, not much - a little nutty maybe, syrupy-sweet, mostly nothing. Watery, pretty flat, no aftertaste (matches the taste). Why drink this? Why MAKE this? churchill00 (154), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 18, 2007 I’m not even sure why I thought this would be a good combo, although I could put maple syrup on just about anything and be happy--so go fiqure. Very thin and watery texture, pretty weak composition. Am I the only one that tastes more vanilla extract than maple syrup? Glad I bought a single 12oz...probably won’t try again. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Pours hazy brown with thin tan head. Nose is maple syrup. Flavor is maple syrup, rather sour malts, and smokiness from dark malts. Sour, smoky aftertaste. Rather light bodied. Not bad. obguthr (1053), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Very cloudy brown color with floating sediments, thin head. Aroma is sweet maple syrup, yeast. Syrupy sweet tase of rotten apples. Sweet and tartness offends the senses. Not at all drinkable. BeerFanDan17 (625), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 10, 2007 This is more of a dessert beer. A light ale with hints of maple and sweeter flavors. Nothing special, but a nice ale nonetheless. timjertson (26), Waseca, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Dark brown ale with a thin cream colored head that disappears quickly. Malt and American hops in the nose. Roasted, almost smoky malt flavor, with a sweet touch from the maple syrup. A bit of the flavor of the tree. From a six bottle sampler.
