Sweet caramel, brown sugar/maple flavor upfront with some roasted grain in the backend. A slight maple taste lingers on the tongue after a while. Easy to drink, but very sweet. More than one might give a belly ache. demitriustown (697), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 14, 2006 I guess I’m on a Brown ale binge. 12 oz bottle: Scent is faintly of maple syrup, malts, caramel, and some grains. Appearance is a clear brownish pour with a medium sized well carbonated head that last for a few seconds. Flavor is kind of flat, very faint maple syrup notes, very lightly malted, and some roasted cashews or something. Palate is somewhat dry and really nothing much at all. This isn’t a really good Brown ale. It’s not horrid, but it just is lacking on many levels. bubbleflubber (894), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Almost reminds me of a Flemish Sour to be honest..... but not nearly as complex. The pour is dark brown with a thin head and trace lace. The nose is of sourdough and light maple syrup. The flavors are predominantly sour, with a "hue" of maple and nuts.... and I do mean "hue". The mouthfeel is thin, although it’s easily drinkable. Finish is sour citrus, with no bite. Nothing special. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark brown with amber hues. A funky nose (not in a good way). Smelled like pepperoni pizza (dough?) with a hint of sweetness. Light on the palate with notes of chocolate and rasted nuts. Short and nutty on the finish. Thin and unspectacular. Wheres the maple? | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear brown, lots of particles in the bottom of my glass. Creamy tan head, nice lace rings. Sweet malt and nut aroma, maple syrup is light but noticeable. Flavor is sweet malt, brown sugar and a light nuttiness. Body is a bit watery, and the flavors are rather light. Finish is, um, absent. Eh. Drinkable but not great. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Quite a credible amber ale. Caramel color with no head to speak of. An aroma of syrup and lightly roasted nuts. Tastes lightly of syrup, balanced off by walnuts, caramel, and the tiniest bit of cream. A bit sweet, but otherwise, not bad at all.
