| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2005 Reddish/brown pour with a foamy white head. The aroma is less than stellar, with a generic brown ale nose. Fairly malty sweet and caramel malt flavors. I guess if I had to drink tommyknocker, it would have to be a toss between this and the pickaxe. However, I would opt for something else. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2005 A red-brown beer with a fine but disappearing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel and nuts. The flavor is very roasted with notes of nuts as well as some burnt notes - I pick up more honey notes than maple sirup. The body is thin.
