Commercial Description:
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Location: A friend gave me a 12 oz bottle, I believe it was purchased at a Total Wine in NoVA...it came out of a 6 beer 12 bottle Tommyknocker sampler.

Aroma: Caramel, nuts, chocolate, a very sweet nose
Appearance: Nice brown color, slight red hue, thin off-white/brown head that dissipates quickly, slight lacing
Flavor: Sweet malts dominate the flavor, which is much like the nose
Palate: Lightish body, a little sticky
Overall Impression: Sure, its a bit thin, bit its not bad. I like what they are trying to do, but it could really use some additional character, as it just isn’t quite there.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty nutty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty nutty caramel flavor with some hints of honey. Has a sweetish malty nutty caramel finish.

pours garnet red with a thin head on top. Aroma is is faint, toffee meets roasted nuts and mid woody notes. Flavor is odd, initially very sweet, giving way to definite maple tones, followed by a roasted element, moments of burned wheat toast, almonds, slight vanilla, and a dry finish. Not as sweet or cloying as I expected, and generally unoffensive.

fizzy cola colored, fluffy off white head, some lace. nose is mostly air with a hint of m,aple (never a good sign) and maybe a hint of sweet malt. flavor is sweet malt, overpowered by maple syrup, maybe some corn syrup. oily mouthfeel, much too sweet finish. really quite dreadful. sampler 12 pack from liquor depot in monee.

bottle thanks to boomer0813. poured a dark brown with a soapy beige head. aroma of grains, caramel, brown sugar, and pecans. flavor of caramel, unsalted green pecans, and a mild bitter. thin and watery with no carb. not real enjoyable, but drinkable.

Quite a lot of nut flavor apparent. Rather tasty however, and a nice example of a brown.
