Commercial Description:
Oaked Butt Head combines our award winning Butt Head Bock with finely toasted oak. The vanilla and spice character of the oak melds with the malty caramel flavors of our dopplebock

Deep reddish-brown color...almost opaque. Thin head, though with decent lacing. Bold aroma of caramel, oak and vanilla. Front somewhat mirrors the characteristics of the aroma, but is also met with added spice notes...crisp mouthfeel, yet with good body. Taste of vanilla is accentuated in the back, with the subtle addition of fruit...finish is filled with caramel, and just a tiny bite from the high ABV. Despite a few imperfections in the overall appearance and palate, this brew ranks among the top in complexity.

Hell not a huge bock fan here but I enjoyed this one. I am guessing it’s probably not true to style or something along those lines. Pours a dark ruby red color. Medium to almost full bodied. On the aroma I get oak, a hint of lemon peel along with some slight banana as well. Stays on the palate with some banana and again the lemon/orange peel. Pretty good beer and fun name.

Deep brown, decent head, slightly murky. Aroma has so much oak on it that I honestly would have picked it as a rauchbier if I hadn’t known better. Caramel, spice, and apparently an entire stick of oak has become lodged in my tongue. Since I’m not a bock fan, I actually think this helps, but one could argue that it was a bit overdone.

Aroma: Caramel, oak, earth, vanilla, smoke
Appearance: Brownish-red color
Flavor: Similar to the nose, but the Oak and Spice are more dominant
Palate: Medium body, drinks nicely
Overall Impression: A nice beer, I like the regular Butt Head, but thought this was even better

The aroma is definitely oaked and smoked with butterscotch, toffee, dishwater, and caramel. The appearance is red/brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a smokey beef jerky finish. The palate is average. Overall this is a less than average beer with wood added.

Interesting. Wasnt too fond of the regular butt head, but thought id give this one a try and glad I did. Pours brown with thick tan head. Aromas of roasted pineapple and smokiness. Tastes like Christmas time. Spicy, oaky, vanilla and caramel. Good flavor and less alcohol burn then the regular.

12oz bottle served in a shaker pint. Poured a hazy dark copper with a sparse heat that quickly dissipated. Syrupy aroma with some burnt sugar and vanilla from the oak. Medium bodied, not a lot of carbonation. Lots of oak in the flavor that pretty much obscures the base beer. Either that or the base beer is very bland. I didn’t get much of the deep malt flavor that I expect from a bock. This tasted just like oak and not much more. Glad I only bought a single.
