The light aroma is mostly sweet malt with a little fruit. The flavor... well... this beer is infected. The sour fruit like flavor of infection isn’t as strong and unpleasant as the other bottle of infected Tommyknocker I had was (Maple Nut Brown), but still, it doesn’t taste right. Given that many other people have reported infection problems in the Maple Nut Brown too, I’d say they’ve got a bottling problem. AR (437), Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2007 A hazy-looking beer with a slight hoppy aroma. The taste is more of a spicy malt flavor. It is a nice blend for easy drinking. beachbum25 (802), Powellville, Maryland, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 14, 2007 12 oz Bottle, dated 7/5/07-Poured a light amber/copper color w/almost no head. Decent lacing & good carbonation. Not much aroma, a little malt. Flavors of roasted malt, cane sugar, toffee & stale bread/yeast. Leaves a long doughy aftertaste which I did not find very enjoyable, tastes like a stale keg of Yuengling (Trust me on that one, I’ve been there). Thin mouthfeel. I wouldn’t recommend this one. screigh (264), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Poured a strawy amber color. Very small head but something stayed around the whole beer. No lacing. Aroma is fantastic. Just a rich malt smell. When I first got a whiff I thought this was going to be fantastic. Then the taste. Very sweet with the hint of candy sugar. No character at all and very watery mouthfeel. Some slight hop bitterness. nearbeer (1880), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 7, 2007 355 ml, bbe June 07. Hazy copper-orange with a medium and lasting head that leaves some nice cobwebs. Spiced apples, molasses, and chocolate aroma. Tangy-spiced and fruity, English-style malt with hints of chocolate and nuts on the front. Turns more earthy-spiced and bitterish-nutty on the finish. Palate is nearly medium-bodied, tingly and refreshing. Wow, I just noticed this is a lager! This is about the best flavor I have had in an American lager in umm... well, possibly ever? Damn this tastes like a good ESB! C’mon people, rate the beer against its peers, in its style! Way underrated. BrewDad (2378), Olympia, Washington, USA

Amber in color with a thin head. This was a deep malty brew with very light spices and flavors. A slight hoppyness with a good crisp finish. A decent amber ale. conor23 (110), Elgin, Illinois, USA
