Amber pour with thin head. Dusty medium malt aroma, light fruit. Same flavour, a little buttery toasty malt. Clean finish.

Pours an attractive deep amber with small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and brown sugar. Taste is sweet, good malt profile yet thin mouthfeel. Notes of molasses and grass. Ends with a bitter hoppiness. Good flavor, thin mouthfeel...nice amber.

Pours a slightly hazy medium to dark amber with a 2 finger creamy off white head that has good retention. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, apples, toffee, a little citrus and some grassy notes. Flavor is sweet malt, a little caramel, straw, some grass, the faintest hint of citrus, and a little buttered toast. Finish is watery sweet malt and toasted grains, a little planty hops. Palate is light bodied and slightly slick on entry becoming increasingly dry and crisp toward the finish with a light, but appropriate carbonation.

Amber pour with thin wispy off-white head. Nice malt aroma but the taste was not there. It had a thin taste of malt, watery. Nothing great, nothing horrid.

Malty, refreshing, crisp, with a touch of citrus? This was a delightful surprise at my local Western. Yum. I look forward to the rest of the Mother Lode sampler pack.

Amber pour with a thin white head. Earthy malt aroma, mildly smokey. Lightly toasted malt taste. Subtle hop presence. A fairly nondescript amber.

Location: A friend gave me a 12 oz bottle, I believe it was purchased at a Total Wine in NoVA...it came out of a 6 beer 12 bottle Tommyknocker sampler.
5/3/09

Aroma: Light malty nose, a little toasted grains, caramel, some fruit
Appearance: Coppery orange color, hazy-clear, thin, off-white head
Flavor: Flavor is mostly malty sweetness with mix of malt flavors
Palate: A decent mouthfeel, medium body
Overall Impression: Some decent characteristics for a lager, not a bad beer, but I guess I liked it better then most of the previous raters. I liked a lot of the way this beer works for its style.
