| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 28, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a smallish, bubbly, white head.
Smell: Restrained toffee maltiness with a touch of roast and toast. Some sliced pears. Minor yeast note.
Taste: Toasty toffee-tasting maltiness with a lesser bit of roast. Sugary pear fruitiness. Altogether mild floral hop character and bitterness. Slight yeastiness. Finishes crisp with a light, lingering roastiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A decent, drinkable amber lager, but that’s not really saying all that much. Still though, I’ll take a generic brew over an overpriced bottle of something gack-inducing and horrendous any day of the week. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark amber color with not much head. The aroma was malty and sweet. The flavor was the same. Is it me, or do all the Tommyknocker beers almost taste the same. Slightly malty and sweet. Not enjoying these too much. fluffy (229), Florida, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Disappointing. I’ve yet to have a really good Tommyknocker beer, or one that offers hop, roasty, fruity, or anything other than than malty. And this beer is no exception...mildly malty in both aroma and flavor, but virtually nothing else here. Mouthfeel is not worthy of comment, for better or for worse. There are so many other beers of similar styles that are so much better...is this a dark lager? Than do yourself a favor and try a Furthermore Oscura or Sprecher Black. Is this an amber ale? Than try a McTarnahan’s. Either way, you’ll be much happier than if you drink this beer.
I would not recommend this beer. I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in Idaho Springs. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Bottle: Malty and fruity aroma. Dark transparent amber with a pretty insignificant white head that is all but gone in a few seconds. Lightly malty up front with a watered down lightly hopped citrus and peach finish. This is really thin. One of the thinnest beers I’ve had. Another beer that if the flavors were intensified, it would be decent. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a hazy copper body topped by a small head of foam which diminished quickly and fully. Aroma is a light balance of malts and hops with not much else. It isn’t bad, but it doesn’t astound. Very watery mouthfeel with barely any carbonation made slightly sweet by the malts. The palate is fairly well balanced with some caramel notes, though fairly undistinguished. I don’t think this is a bad beer at all, though I have had other beers from this brewery that impressed me more. swanmann (310), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Taster at the pub - it’s clear orange amber with thin off white head. It’s nice citrusy hop aroma with biscuity backbone. The flavor has nice toasty bitterness blending well with esthery hops. This one is better from the source. GMUcrew7 (376), Mason, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Pours burnt orange with small light tan head. Aroma is pretty much indistinguishable, a little sweet malt and biscuit. Flavor is much the same. If only they spent as much time improving their beer as they do on naming, describing and creating labels for them.
