Commercial Description:
A classic English Pale Ale dominated by pleasant hop bitterness and aroma. Dry hops impart unique aromas and flavors that add to the complexity of this ale. Our Pick Axe uses a blend of hopping: British Columbia Bramling, Czech Saaz, and British East Kent Goldings which melds into an award winning flavor. 1997 & 2000 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

citrus aroma made me take a step back, not negatively, didn’t expect the charge, warm alcohol feel to this one, full citrus/grapefruit flavor

on tap-pours a white head and gold color. Aroma is hops. Taste is hops and good carbonation with a silky/clean, dry mouthfeel. A good non-complex beer.

Pours a murky amber - somewhat dark for a pale ale... Nose is nearly all malt & fruit; almost like a brown ale. Flavour isn’t quite as citrusy as I’d expect from a pale ale.

Trade. This poured amber with very, very small head. Nose is nothing , really. Taste has grapefruit and something astringent? Not bad, was hot today and this hit the spot.

This is an easy-drinking pale ale. Not much pronounced in the flavor, but ok for a light, summer beer.

Smells wonderful, like a ripe juicy grapefruit, just amazing. Flavor is light but tasty. Not a lot of bittering hops, but pleasant from all the citrusy hops. A great pale ale that I could drink a lot more of.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber orange with a small head and some lace. The aroma is citrusy, strong flowers, and grapefruit. The taste is mildly hoppy but very smooth with some lingering citrus. Very smooth and refreshing beer.
