Showing promise. the flavor is malty at first with some serious hops following. Very balanced. Nice medium palate. treadyroc (112), St. Leonard, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 29, 2007 Much smoother than it smells... (a good thing?) Kind of a bitter aftertaste, but comes across citrus-y in the beginning. I’ve definitely had much better pale ales from CO, but this isn’t an entirely bad effort. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Updated: Jul 25, 2007Bottle (12oz). Hazy amber-orange, small creamy-fizzy diminishing white head (3-). Sweetgrass and herbal hops, very light toast malt - not much there. Soapy malt tastes with stale weedy bitterness - the bitterness increases and emerges as sharp UK-style hops with a light apricot fruit accompaniment. Light body, incredibly astringent - like strong black tea, bitter teeth-coating aftertaste. Not too bad. obguthr (1031), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2007 good, good aroma (a touch fruitpunchy) that is somewhat lost upon the flavor.the hop character is clearly like a german with a body and malt profile like an american pale. can’t tell what is the alcohol content -a good mark-. creamy mouthfeel. there is certainly a niche for a hybrid type beer as this one (in my book). so fresh tasting. and the creativity and chance taken to create this strangely entertaining brew should be rewarded. all should try it. but alas many may find it weak. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 2, 2007 Awful, awful beer. As the beer warmed it be came more plesant, but from the bottle it was very very bitter and chewy, and not what I was looking for. Cloudy and weird bits in the glass from the bottle pour. I’ve had better pales than this... but the malts weren’t too bad as the glass went on. (Bottle Pour 6/2/2007) sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
