Great color, carbonation, pretty head. Taste is dominated by caramel, toffee, and then bitterness. It feels watery/light. Bitterness persists Mrthirstyneck (341), Minnesota, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Copper colored with a small, frothy, white head. Nose has a good hit of floral, citrusy, piney hops but has a better malt balance than the APA I was just drinking; caramel. Flavor is hoppier than the aroma. Nice, thick, silky body. Pleasantly impressed by this one. twindadplus2 (415), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Hazy, copper color with a small, firm head. Aroma is a big hit of dry citrus hops. Taste is citrus and piney hops. Finish starts as a big hit of pine and folds into sweet fruit and caramel malt. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A pretty good beer. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2007 12 oz. bottle just a few weeks past its best by date. I’m trying this in the middle of a homebrew, and the smell goes well; a nice bit of English and American hop. In fact, in the glass, it more of a citrusy PNW smell. Deep coppery color, very minimal head. Taste is pretty good. The American hops kind of overwhelm at first, but I can detect the British and German base beneath it--unless that’s just the power of suggestion at work. Still, some nice caramel and toasty malts working here. A better example of these Tommyknocker beers. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Nose is caramel, grapefruit, pine. Taste is the same as well as some orange. Semi-dry finish. Medium carbonation. Medium body. Easy to drink. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA

Fresh floral hop aroma with some spice and grain in the background. Medium body, fine light carbonation, and slightly resinous. Light caramel sweetness and the bitterness of lemon peel combine for a refreshing dry finish. BeerBelcher (940), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Dec 31, 2006 I had this from a 12oz bottle at a friend’s house.
This beer poured a rather dark amber; a good bit darker than most IPAs I’ve had lately. It had abundant white head and was an opaque hazy.
Aroma was of light and vaguely fruity hops. Not too profound.
Taste was more of the same...this is definitely an English Pale Ale, and I’ve tried a number of APAs lately that would benefit from this designation. Not bad.
Mouthfeel was pleasant and light, and I found this beer rather drinkable.
