Commercial Description:
A classic English Pale Ale dominated by pleasant hop bitterness and aroma. Dry hops impart unique aromas and flavors that add to the complexity of this ale. Our Pick Axe uses a blend of hopping: British Columbia Bramling, Czech Saaz, and British East Kent Goldings which melds into an award winning flavor. 1997 & 2000 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

Not bad. Good hops with a nice bite. Still may be a little light but better than any other tommyknocker I’ve had in the sampler 12 pack. Tommyknocker shows some potential with this style.

Bottle. Sweet apple-peach and hops aroma. Cloudy amber color with small head. Slghtly sweet apple malt flavor with a moderate hoppy finish. Nicely balanced - just a tad on the weak side.

Thanks to Goldtwins for this one! This starts with a small fleeting head of white over a hazy amber body. Little to no aroma which is echoed in the lack of flavor as well. Thin. Very unimpressive.

Hazy yellow or pale amber with a small head. The aroma is softly hoppy and almost fruity. The hops come across like mandarin oranges. The flavor is a bit thinner than I’d like and could really handle being a touch more malty, but the beer is hopped well, there’s just not under underneath it.

Very drinkable beer. One to pass along to the TV commercial beer drinkers. It would be a nice wings or pizza beer.

Mulky color matches the aftertaste perfectly. I’d nickname this one ’shallow well water’ since it has flavor but needs to be drilled deeper.

A huge change over the maple brown I just poured out. This was has a funky aroma shared with the other though, maybe a diff. yeast? Cloudy orange. This one is suprisingly drinkable and still has the malts beside a simply-structured hop palate: floral & little grapefruit. Not bad, would def. drink again.

Draft, Great Decatur Beerfest. Coppery amber pour. Floral hoppy aroma with some light to medium caramel malt backing. More caramel malt flavors, with floral and a tiny bit citrus hop flavors. Decent pale ale.
