Commercial Description:
A classic English Pale Ale dominated by pleasant hop bitterness and aroma. Dry hops impart unique aromas and flavors that add to the complexity of this ale. Our Pick Axe uses a blend of hopping: British Columbia Bramling, Czech Saaz, and British East Kent Goldings which melds into an award winning flavor. 1997 & 2000 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner

A decent pale ale. Very little carbonation and no head. Decent hoppy aroma and flavor but lacks any real outstanding qualities.

Smells like Fruity Pebbles. Seriously. Other than that, a very decent, very average pale. It’s a good thing I love pale ale, and the Fruity Pebble scent is a big bonus...I like this one.

Appearance is a gold color with a thin, fluffy head. Nose has some molasses, fruit, sugar, a touch of citric hops. Mouthfeel is watery, taste is pretty bland. Bitterness is there, but hop complexity is absent. Biscuits and a hint of maple sugar. Pedestrian.

Golden pale amber with medium off-white head. Sweet hoppy fruity aroma. Not a strong hop taste but is very pleasurable on the palate. A nice bitter finish, this is probably the best Tommy Knocker brew in the variety pack I purchased. I will not purchase another variety pack but will certainly purchase this Pick Axe pale Ale again.

Orange golden with a thin tan head. Mild and fresh hop and fruit aroma. Dry and bitter hoppy flavor with some fruit in the finish. Little too sharp in the bitterness. Dry.

Pours mediume brown/dark copper color. Off-white head fades to film quickly. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with decent hop bitterness. Flavor very well balanced malts and hops. Pleasantly surprised. Would make a nice summer brew.

Cask version. Medium brown color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is sweet, with a touch of floral hops. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of caramel. Hops are grapefruity and floral. Soft carbonation, round full mouthfeel. Nice balance. A touch dry in the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
