| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 29, 2008 this was in a mix pack i picked up, so by default had to drink.otherwise never would as i dont like pale ales. thin head that disappeared quickly, pale gold color, not much aroma. taste is as expected-hoppy and bitter, though i admit its a lot more rounded than a lot of pale ales. if i had my choice between this and say Sierra Nevada’s, this is definitely better. still, not my thing. brewski519 (419), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Picked this beer up after trying a couple of other Tommyknocker offerings at the Raleigh NC Beerfest. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed drinking this Pale Ale over the summer.
Poured a nice amber color, with a smallish head. Smelled sweet, citrusy, but not overpowering. Has a nice citrus/grapefruit taste to it - maybe a little too much for those who aren’t big Pale Ale fans - but I am so I was good with it. Great beer to sit out on the back deck with after work. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Aroma was hoppy, some citrus and even pine. The flavor was mostly of hops, citrus, pine, and floral hops, surprised to see that it was all Euro-hopped. Mouthfeel was moderate to slightly heavy for the style. I enjoyed this one. Re-rate, 9/06, no significant change, although flavor and mouthfeel lost a point, thinner / watery this time aroud FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bronze color with a small orange-white head. The aroma was lightly sweet and fruity. The flavor was bitter, tangy, sour and had light fruity and floral hops and a touch a nut. Unremarkable. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 poured a nice cooper hue with a white head that had great lacing. Aroma was a mix of sweet malts, a soapy note and hops. Flavor was well balanced with caramel malt notes and a nice hop bite which mellowed out the sweetness. Smooth in the finish. fakepurseninja (785), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2008 Really decent drink - big bready malt backbone with light earthy notes. Solid floral hop component with a nice bitterness and a bit of astringent spice. Foxbush (460), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2008 This was my first from Tommyknocker. The color was a deep amber and the head was thin a nd frothy. the hops blending was unique. It is a good APA with medium body and no bitter aftertaste. The balanced hopping provides a complex ale tha is worth finding. popephred (193), Plainfield, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 30, 2008 BoTMC Selection September 2008: Poured from the bottle into a double-walled pint glass. Pour produced a hazy, amber body, topped with a yellow-white head of foam with abundant lacing. Aroma was a nice floral hops, which I expected from the style, along with some orange notes. Smooth flavor, with a sweet beginning melding into a soft bitter finish and minimal aftertaste. Palate is a soft blending of hops and citrus. Overall, a pleasant brew that is easy to drink and enjoy.
