(Bottled) Very dark, reddish amber color with a large, tanned and foamy, very lasting and lacy head. Sweet-malty and caramely aroma with some rye-pudding and a hint of metal. Lots of sweetish malt and rye bread in the flavor. Quite full-bodied, smooth and syrupy palate with foamy carbonation. Slightly too thin, sweet and carbonated, but still a very enjoyable dubbel overall. Plus a great-looking head!

Aug 10, 2008 On tap @ Café Gollem, a few weeks ago. Brown colour, big head. Aroma of roasted malts, some dark fruits, yeast. Taste is roasted malts, some dark chocolate and dark fruits. Very dry mouthfeel, a bit watery.

Jul 21, 2008 On tap. Pours brown with a medium long lasting white/beige creamy head. Lots of dark fruits and candy store in the aroma that contains a good malt base. Good malty taste with sweet fruits and raisins.

Jul 1, 2008 Decent Abbey Dubbel, although a bit boring and standard. Slightly darker than other dubbels. Had it a couple of times at de Boom in Alkmaar. It doesn’t have that special scent that other dubbels have. It’s hard to explain what’s exactly missing.
