Commercial Description:
Named for the prominent landmark easily seen from our outdoor deck if you look north, this smooth and balanced nitrogenated beer is a perfect example of its style.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep ruby with a thin creamy nitro cap with good retention and lacing (but it’s nitro so not that impressive). Aroma of stale coffee grinds, roasted malt. Taste is sort of like if there existed instant stout mix poured and stirred into cold water. Slight cocoa mix in there too but- I agree- very artificial. Overall watery body with a bitter, stale coffee finish almost like drinking left out cold coffee.

Black pour with small white head. Roasted malts aroma, felt like it was a coffee with cream at times. Very heavy, bittersweet flavor.

As thin as the porter. Black pour, on nitro. Chalky chocolate flavor to it that is incredibly artificial -- not the slightly powdery texture of Rogue’s chocolate stout, more of a chewing semi-sweet hot cocoa mix texture. Some roastiness. Not worth your time.
