Commercial Description:
A classic English style ale with pronounced malt notes and a delicate hop finish. Originally called a bitter hundreds of years ago, this style is quite mild by modern day standards. Eminently quaffable. Original Gravity: 1046 Alcohol by Volume: 4.1%

Reddish brown color, tan head. Had some kinda harsh, metallic bitter to it. The hops weren’t particularly fruity, just acidic. It had some earthy malts, medium body. The carbonation was fairly mild, but the bitter sticks to the palate in a pretty unpleasant way.

On tap. Clear bronze red with minimal white head. Slight malt aroma when the beer warmed up, minimal while cold. Generic bready malty flavors, with a touch of toffee and a slightly dry finish. Thin flavors and medium to light mouthfeel. Definitely a bitter, not ESB.

Had this on tap at the brew pub in Chapel Hill. Lighter in color than I expected it to be (golden). Flowery nose with some toffee overtones. Moderately bitter. Medium bodies with thin texture. Not bad.
