very dark with ruby highlights, lasting creamy tan head, lots of lace, slightly sout and bitter aroma, creamy body, lots of bitter dry malt flavor, touch of tartness, very astrengent, no recognizable flaws or infections but this can’t be intentional,

Oct 29, 2006 Got this at the brewpub before watching my Wake Forest Demon Deacons take it to the Heels in football.
Dark black with a typical nitrogen head. Heavily roasty aroma and flavor with a hint of chocolate. Pretty good

Mar 18, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. This beer is a variation on the porter that they usually have on tap, and is a defintie improvement. Opaque black with a thick tan head that laced the glass. Nose is a little roasty with some chocolate. Flavor is similar. Smooth and full bodied with low carbonation. Very good beer.
